Book Week Shared Reading
We were so lucky this week to have Jacob's mam visit our room for shared reading! We read a book about an Irish Leprechaun and a book about Gaza in Palestine called 'Sitti's Bird' and learned about the author Malak Mattar. We enjoyed getting engrossed in the story.
Egyptian Canopic Jars
As part of our Egyptian theme, we created some amazing Egyptian canopic jars. We used the papier maché method using goop and newspaper. Firstly, we constructed the general shape of the jar we wanted using recyclable materials. Next, we created goop using flour and water and then dipped strips of newspaper into it. We wrapped this tightly around the structure. Have a look at our process!
